Day Five: Peppermint
This is one is my FAVE! I love it. I love it’s smell and I love it’s ability to work. I have used it for headaches and achy feet from long nights at work. I originally bought peppermint before I purchased my kit because it repels bugs and spiders. I had been having nasty centipedes come upstairs from our unfinished basement and they appeared far too often for my liking. You know, those nasty bugs with many legs (they give me the serious creeps)! I never actually used it for that reason because miraculously, I must have rid of the last one. They stopped coming around. Thank goodness for that.
I looked up other ways to use it and sure enough, they worked! I love it for headaches because it works fast. I apply just one drop to the temples. Know though, that peppermint is a strong oil, so it is good to use a carrier oil with it. I accidentally rubbed my eye once after applying to my temple without the carrier oil and that was a mistake! It BURNED! I won’t be doing that again.
I actually woke up this morning with bouts of vertigo, so today’s challenge worked out perfectly. I applied a drop of peppermint topically to my temples and got the diffuser rolling as well. It actually seemed to work! That was a relief, I hate that dizzy feeling.
Peppermint is also one of my favorites to diffuse. It smells so good that I will either diffuse alone or diffuse with lemon for a fresh, soothing scent. You really can’t go wrong with these smells.
Along with headaches, body aches and pains, and diffusing, peppermint has many other uses as well. It can be good for colds, fevers, tummy upset, indigestion, stress, and odors.
More truth here. I had purchased regular peppermint before the peppermint vitality arrived in my starter kit. Again, vitality is just a label that means the oil can be ingested. Some people say that there is no difference and that Young Living just had to put a label on one of them to prove that it can be safely ingested. HOWEVER, there has to be something different because they smell different. I fell in love with the first one because of its smell but I do not love the smell of peppermint vitality. So, being they smell different, you’d think that there actually IS something different about them. It makes me wonder if I’d like the other regular oils as well from my last four challenges.
So, truth be told, when my regular peppermint oil goes out, I will definitely restock this one! Do you love this one as much I do? If you’ve never tried it nor any other oil, this is a great one to invest in. You won’t be disappointed.
