I love that there are still good people out there.
Today, on my day off, I decided to swing though Starbucks for a peppermint mocha. The holiday drinks are back and I had been itching to get one! I drove up to the window and the barista told me that my coffee was paid for by the gentleman ahead of me! I love this. Some kind stranger paid for my coffee without having absolutely no idea who I am. It definitely put a smile on my face and made my day. I had this happen to me about six months ago where I had graciously accepted and left. This time, I wanted to make sure that I made somebody else’s day by repaying the favor. The man ahead of me paid for mine, so I paid for the person behind me. Now, I do think it’s ok to accept an act of kindness without giving back, but it felt good to reward somebody in return this time. I hope I put a smile on their face, as somebody did mine.
So often, we hear so much negativity in the news and read about it on social media. It’s nice to experience moments like these for a reminder that people are still good. Small gestures such as this can go a long ways in showing what kind of person you are. Like the good ol’ saying says, “treat others how you want to be treated.”
Anyways, I just wanted to thank that kind stranger for buying my coffee this morning. It was truly appreciated!
