Ready, Set, Hut

It’s football season again!

I, like much of the rest of the world sat down this past weekend and cheered on my favorite team. That favorite team being the Detroit Lions. Yes, I know, poor me. However, we started week one off good! You’d also think, that as a born-and-raised Minnesotan, I would be a Vikings fan right? Well I am not and I can thank my husband for that.

When I met my husband, I didn’t even watch football, ever. I never cheered on the Vikings, my home-state team because to be honest, I didn’t really care for them or any other team for that matter. My husband, he is a huge sports fan. He loves football, baseball, basketball. With that being said and Detroit Lions being his team, he introduced me to this world. I didn’t know who the Detroit Lions were and I didn’t know how horrible they had been in the past (I say this light heartedly). So anyways, on Sunday’s, I would watch football with him and slowly, I started catching on and seeing the fun in it. With him cheering on the Lions and me, a team-less fan, I rooted with him. At first, I would wear my Lions gear just in support of him, but after that first season, I found myself getting more involved and more attached. Now, 5 seasons later, yeah, I can call myself a fan of the Detroit Lions. I have watched some utterly horrible games, but I have also watched some pretty great games. I cheer, I yell, I get involved. I even play fantasy football in our family league. After last year, I threatened to quit, yet here I am again and yes, I lost week one. Oh well. That’s what football is all about. It’s unpredictable and that’s what keeps it exciting! Enough about me, tell me, what is your favorite sports teams and why?
